BACKSTORY
Within the High Elvhen city of Tor Turul'a, the comet Rh’yla marked the day of Felisan's birth, an astrological rarity which portended the promise of an eventful life and reprieve from the routine, or so the spellsingers would say. Whether this was to be boon or curse remained uncertain, though as fate would have it, she was born into high status with all the luxuries that attended. Hers was an adolescence of indolence, as was consistent to her noble station, with servants at her beck and call and the luxury of never having had a want in the material. However, although life’s pleasures were heaped high, the long years stretched on and within that cycle the woman soon began to harbor a deep resentment for it all, the apathy of prestige and all the vices that followed. Surely there was more to life than boundless indulgence, the woman decided, and with that, embarked for something more fulfilling.
House Arhael occupied a firm position in the upper levels of the Elvhen society, made so by their mastery of the arcane arts as well as leading a prestigious mage academy within the city. Here, the young elf began her lessons in spell-weaving, as well as alchemy and other such related studies. Slow to learn, and not particularly adept at the craft, Felisan strived to make up for her failings through sheer persistence — yet fell short in spite of her efforts. Instead of living to meet the high expectations of the celestial prophecy, vague though it had been, the elf mage found herself delegated to a task that was considered relatively menial labor amongst arcane practitioners. She was to work in tandem with a mage cadre to channel her mana to concentrate the illusion field that blanketed the city from prying eyes. In addition to this, she was assigned the task of a healer apprentice, practicing under the tutelage of a distant uncle.
As she immersed herself in a life outside of the sheltered confines of her previous royal upbringing, the elf began to foster a rebellious streak. This culminated in her acquiring the facial markings of the forest-dwelling Elvhen, which became a topic of dispute between her and her family. As she was born a 7th child to House Arhael, and thus held little sway in terms of family inheritance, she was 'banished' from the noble house and stripped of her title. A punishment she all too gladly received, and bore as a symbol of pride.
Now her own free-elf, the middling mage coasted her way through the next few years acting as a healer for the Elvhen militia. Only recently did she receive a summons that offered her a rare once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to satiate her wanderlust. Long have the descendants of the Elvhen isolated themselves from the rest of the world, yet between the council of elders and the Tor Turul'a nobility, they determined it to be prudent to remain informed on the tidings of the world. Pairs or groups of esteemed Elvhen were handpicked to venture out, secure information, and establish diplomatic relations with the outside world, Felisan being one of many such candidates.
RELATIONS
(Ask to be added)
__________
Otto - Liked
"We should totally set up a playdate between Garbage and El'sa.. that's not a bad idea at all."
As a fellow critter appreciator, Felisan can't help but like Otto, if only by virtue of their shared interest. Within the short time she has known him, the elf believes the man to be of an honorable sort, like most of the draken now residing within Stucia. Mild-tempered, easy-going, and as cool as a cucumber, Otto is definitely the sort of person Felisan could vibe with over a bowl of pipeweed.
__________
Adresin - Confused
There are vows that supersede those of friendship in Elvhen culture. Blood ties and lineage, tracing back to ancient times. Although Adresin is not of the House Arhael, in his veins courses the blood of their shared progenitors - joining them by their bond of shared kinship. Regardless of the fact that he is of a more diplomatic demeanor, quiet and contemplative - as opposed to her direct and sometimes antagonistic nature, together they strike a balance that completes the other.
__________
Daken Embery - Well Liked
"Oh, dwarven shieldbearer, I long to witness the day your foes realize your weakness lies not in iron and steel, but in wine and women. That'd make for quite a battle."
One of Felisan's first acquaintances in Stucia, the two made fast friends. But as the days marched on, longing grew in the dwarf's heart and a sheltered ignorance shielded hers. Initially perceiving him to be overbearing and needy, Felisan had endeavored to keep him at an arms length until one day, confessions and professions were made. Now with the fog cleared, they remain friends but have grown rather distant, since.
__________
Akalir aep Milaen - Courteous
"Like a bird without wings, or a fish without fins, you flounder out of your element. Stay on the field, so that you can cleave your problems away with might and steel."
After her resignation from the Mage's Guild, Felisan sought employment and purpose elsewhere. House Milaen was thought to be that solution, and she dragged Adresin along with her, by the arm. Yet it was a decision made with little thought. The house soon lost nearly all its holdings for the faults of its count, and Felisan was among those dismissed when Count Akalir reduced his retinue. Although she's well aware of the rumors circulating the controversial man, she does not bear him any ill-will or heap upon him criticisms. He simply just is, to her. A man with flaws and facets like any other.
