Lord of House Milaen
"Oh my thirst for adventure has long since been quenched my friend, now more important matters are my primary concern."
- Hauclir Aep Milaen, Lord of House Milaen.
Full name: Hauclir Aep Gladdwell Milaen
Title/s: Lord of House Milaen
Race: Irinid Elf
Birthyear: 363 CE
Age: 90 Years
Voice: Smooth sounding, eloquent British accent
Backstory:
Hauclir was born in the desert Oasis of Irinid to the elvish noble house of "Gladdwell" known in the city for its strong contributions to the Elven nations economic prosperity. He had a sheltered childhood and was well educated as you would expect a highborn to be, he was trained in sword and bow by professional instructors in his family's house. He grew up learning the mercantile trade that his family was known well for, though he also developed a powerful ambition to see himself the ruler of his own house, unfortunately he was far from being next in line for the position of head, being the fourth child born it was unlikely he would live long enough to take the helm of house Gladdwell as per his desires.
Not contempt to spend his life if the shadow his siblings he set out to create his own fortune abroad, he left Irinid and spent years travelling first across the continent of the Elves, visiting the city of Netonga and briefly seeking shelter amongst the forest dwellers of Lutria. Unsatisfied he would find fortune here, he resigned himself to journeying to the port city of Quilla ferrying across the oceans to the continent of Aliud. Visiting many of the human kingdoms he eventually settled into Stucia drawn there for its promise of adventure, remaining because of the strong trade routes passing through the kingdom.
Starting out as an adventurer for hire, Hauclir did not find the fortune he so badly desired though he found his talents as negotiator allowed him barter the trinkets from his adventures for enough coin to open up a small stall. From the small stall in the market he managed to amass enough wealth by buying and reselling items from other adventurers, (typically with a massive mark-up in price) to expand his enterprise, buying a store in the city as well as forming his own caravanning company which he named "The Silver Trail Caravan Co", he was able to send word back to his family in Irinid in the form of a letter informing them of his upcoming business expansion. The expansion being; the facilitation of trade and the transport of goods overseas from Irinid into Stucia, where the finely crafted elven trinkets, spices and other goods from the foreign land sold extremely well, especially among the wealthy.
Having literally gone from rags to riches, through his expert reading of the markets and connection with the nobility of Irinid, Hauclir at last found himself in possession of great wealth, not only that but he also found himself growing in influence within the court of the Duke himself, his caravan company controlled a large amount of foreign imports into Stucia and his businesses selling elven wares were very popular among the wealthy.
He bartered with the late Duke Carmick and managed to purchase a large amount of land in Stucia, constructing a manor for himself, it was here he changed his name to Milaen, using his newfound wealth to marry into the nobility of Stucia through a minor house, forming his own house. The House of Milaen.
The founding of "The house of Milaen." occurred only 20 years before the period the server is set in, and is thus considered extremely new and up-and-coming when compared against the other noble houses. But for what it lacks in strong foundation and ties to the realm, house Milaen more than makes up for it in wealth. Now owning many of the large enterprises in Stucia and holding shares in many more.
