Since the earliest records, Fomorians have been etched into the history of every race, be it Humankind, Elven, Dwarven, or any other. They have likely existed as long as any other - and yet there has not been a single era in which the Fomorians have had peace with the rest of the world. Since ancient times, the Fomorians have been regarded as an ancient evil, locked in constant conflict with the humanoid races of the world. Even then, the Fomorians have encompassed enough influence or exerted strength over others to the point of controlling them, such as they've done with goblins, orcs, imps and trolls of the past. Though many of these creatures try to defect or make neutral tribes to break away, their association with Fomorians forces them to have to make a choice between who to make allies with.
As a result of the sheer number of creatures that are encompassed by it, 'Fomorian' is a name loosely applied to more than just the rumored humanlike creatures that are the actual Fomorians, as anything underneath the Fomorian banner in considered a 'Fomorian' to the rest of the world. To make matters worse, Fomorians are known to produce Control Scrolls which is used to possess wildlife and all manner of beastial creature - another reason that Fomorians are considered dangerous, as they often result in violently hostile creatures running wild. Fomorians (commonly referred as Fomors or just Monsters) are a foreign race that do not originate from Roan - these creatures allegedly come from a 'shadow world' parallel to our own but there is no proof that this is true. There has been little to no chance to learn more of the history of Fomorians nor has there been a chance to study them in any way. The little is known is what has been given by the Fomorians themselves.
Fomorians are known to have had a King, suggesting a form of civilization and, more importantly, a god they believe in. This god of the Fomorians, Cixol, is not well known, and it appears that the Fomorians only worship that of Cixol. Their motives are unclear, but their actions are done in the name of Cixol - and typically they're intent on raiding, pillaging, and destroying. For this reason humans have considered Fomorians to be beings of utter chaos - agents of destruction.
Fomorians have rarely been spotted, and there have been a wide number of descriptions given to Fomorians, though they are largely descriptions of creatures with humanoid appearances, no matter how warped or disfigured the rest of the description may be. Some report Fomorians to be wildly disgusting creatures, some describe them as cyclopes or others describe them to be demonic creatures. There is no certainty of what they are.
No matter the truth of the Fomorians, these mysterious creatures of darkness have been creating havoc and invading the world for centuries, and despite their biggest loss centuries ago, the Fomorians have never stopped their attacks, even if they've become much easier since then. And yet, messengers riding from town to town give warning of Fomorians coming by with greater urgency and frequency than ever before. Groups of Fomorians in sizes that have not been seen in hundreds of years have been sighted, and dangerous places such as the cursed lands have only become that much more dangerous.
