Yuri Efremov is a strange man. Born with a crippling defect in his left leg, he was always considered disadvantaged by the world around him, even as a young child. His family was lower-class in comparison with those of the town in which they dwelled, and they had very little money to spare. One day, Yuri's parents left him in the care of a friend to travel on an expedition with a party of treasure hunters that passed through their town. Packing up what little supplies they had, they left home with hopes they could find something to help Yuri's disability. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and Yuri's parents did not return. The woman that looked after Yuri became bitter and spiteful. She began seeing the boy as a parasite who ate her food- like he was a burden that his parents dropped on her. Yuri withstood her bombardments of malcontent the best that he could- but one day he was unable to take it any longer. As she lashed out at Yuri after he shattered one of her dishes, the boy took off through the front door, running away and never looking back.
Efremov lived on the streets for a while, and although he would never land a legitimate job, his creative disposition allowed for some ways that he could maintain some sort of income- even if it was a pitiful amount of silvers. He took scraps of wood and metal that he found in his aimless street wandering, using them to create little trinkets that he sold in the square, like a beggar. Days passed as Yuri slept under leaky awnings in alleys that he called shelter, before a peculiar man happened upon him one particularly cold evening- and although the little boy wasn't aware, it was this man who would change his life for the better... his name- Sidor Nekrasof. An older man, with a spindly grey beard and cracked spectacles, Sidor was what the town considered the "mentally unstable local inventor" cliché that nobody understood, or really liked for that matter. Even in spite of his social status, Sidor seemed to take pity on Yuri and his situation, so he decided to take him on as his apprentice. Eager to become a great inventor and create wonderous things for his town's less horrible people, Yuri agreed with anticipation. As the old man's physical state slowly became more and more grim, Yuri's knowledge only widened as the two developed a bond of not only mentor and student, but father and son.
Sidor had worked with the Rune-Forging dwarves in the mountain that their town stood in the shadow of, but they were now long-gone from the area, which left Yuri and Sidor to develop what they could from the limited knowledge they had. Sidor had a basic understanding of the art of rune forging, but it was never enough to actually create them himself, instead resorting to magic-conducting crystals given by an Alchemist who passed through the town in Sidor's more youthful years as an inventor. With careful research, Sidor and Yuri managed to design a crude version of a magic core, and although it was not as powerful as a fully-fledged core, it was enough to power their inventions with little issue- save for a couple small explosions in the process of design. On Yuri's 19th birthday, Sidor was lying in his deathbed- an accomplished, yet unfulfilled inventor. Yuri and him had created a multitude of things for the townspeople's use, among them being self-lighting street-lamps, a system that filters lake water to make it drinkable, and a prototype mechanical arm, constructed with the result of 4 years of trial and error. It was intended for use by the miners of the town, who Sidor respected deeply on account of their hard work to keep the town's fireplaces warm with coal, and mouths fed with the prophets of gold. But the elderly inventor realized his fate- the fate of all living things. Before he passed, he offered the distraught Yuri some warm words of consolation, along with his collection of notes and detailed blueprints to complete the mechanical arm. Efremov, completely devastated by the death of his mentor, ventured out into the unknown, on a quest to help others around him with his technologies, and one day bring Sidor's dream back to the town, after he makes it into the invention that his late mentor envisioned.

Daken Emberey- Neutral/ Respected
"He's a decent individual- don't get me wrong. I am just perturbed that he was ever a part of House Milaen. In addition- he even tried to stop me from helping Aigver when he was being humiliated- and executed! He has done some good things, as well as some less-good things, so my opinion of him stays neutral. We don't talk much- it's kind of awkward.. but then again, I'm awkward by myself. He's good friend material- I guess I will have to see where things go with him- hopefully they go well.."
----
"I feel bad for him, I think I was harsh on him when Aigver died, and it screwed things up between us. Now he's going through another really bad situation and I don't know him well enough to provide any comfort, and I can't help but feel guilty for that. If he truly is leaving, I hope he sticks to his plan. He may be a good thing for Stucia, but it would be best for his emotional recovery to stay away, at least for a decent while."
----
"..I- I wish I knew him better than I did. I wish I could've been there. Maybe if I was there, I could've helped.. but I wasn't. I distanced myself from him out of grief, then forgot to try and consider his grief. I don't know exactly how he died, but I'm nearly positive that he did so defending others, and I'll always remember him for that. Daken, Bulwark of Stucia; I hope you can find peace... and I'll make sure that you are never forgotten."
Androu Opimius- Slightly Liked
"I don't know much about him to be completely honest. I know he's in House Opimus- and he seems pretty respectable.. he's useful on the battlefield, too- so that's pretty cool. All in all- most of our interactions have been positive. He's okey, definitely not a bad person."
Zain Al Abdo- Good Friend
"Zain is like my entire toolkit mixed into one. Not that he is a tool! But he has so many cool things and functions about him- he can fight, he gives good advice- I think, he listens well, and he's super nice! All of our interactions have been pleasant- and very occasionally he makes me uncomfortable- but I do not care because he is a very caring individual. Zain has saved me in battle.. what- two times, now? His magic skills are so cool to see in action- and it's effective, too! He is very good! I should really think about making something for him- he deserves it with very little doubt. He reminds me of a cat, because he is sly and elegant at the same time."
----
"He's gone. Maybe for good. Gods, I didn't even say goodbye. I'll always remember him, and if he comes back, I'll follow him into hell and back."
Ayla Moonheart- Good Friend
"Ayla isgood one of the best. Aside from Zain, I talk to her the most. She is legitimately precious, and she deserves the world and all of the sweet and warm and happy things on it. I can't get all of these things for her- but I can try with the best of my abilities. I do not think she likes me as much as some of her other friends, but this is okey! I have very little idea as to what has happened to her- but if what they say happened to her actually happened, I will report the perpetrators to the authorities and kick their teeth in have them arrested for their crimes. I find it hard to keep up with her sometimes- can't imagine why that is, heh... She is kind of.. pleasantly chaotic. I'm rather worried about her.. she has gone through many turbulent events in the past few days.. If she dies somehow, I will be beside myself. I don't know if I can help her at all, but if she needs me, I will try, regardless of my social objections."
----
"She got her memories back. I.. I'm happy I got to give her the hat I made- more so happy that she's alright. If anybody touches her or anybody she loves, I'll end them."
Marion Locke- Liked
"Marion reminds me of somebody back from my town. He's kind of reclusive- like me, but it only seems to be because he wants to be- I cannot blame him, really.. some of the people here are hard to talk to, or aren't worth talking to- not to be rude! I do not mean to be rude in any way, and I guess the statement is more of an opinion than a fact- but I digress.. Marion is one strong man- he is sort of menacing, even. But it's hard to feel threatened by things when he is around. I hope he takes care of Ayla, she seems to like him a lot. I like his bird, Nox. If anything, his personality is reminiscent of a raven, kind of.. mysterious, watchful, and caring for those in his flock. All in all, he's great. We should talk more, maybe he could teach me a thing or two about combat."
----
"I missed him a lot. It was a.. bad time for me to leave Stucia- to say the least. He's one determined fellow, but sometimes I worry about him. He might be a little too determined- if that makes sense. He's willing to do whatever it takes, and if you get on the wrong side of that- it's not good news. But I trust him. I'm just happy he's not dead, or worse."
Squeech S.- Good Friend
"Squeech is one of the coolest living things in Stucia. Some may perceive him as disgusting, or weird, or primitive- but they are wrong and stupid. He's actually surprisingly intelligent, considering other ratfolk I've met. He never ceases to amaze, and his courage and willingness on the battlefield is inspiring. I don't see him much, likely because I don't look down very often- but he's one of the people- er... inhabitants of Stucia that I would trust with any number of my secrets. He's a really helpful individual- and I will make sure that anybody who harms him physically or mentally will have their ribcage bashed in- er.. arrested."
Hallgeir Marovo- Good Friend
"Hallgeir is another one of the people in Stucia that it's hard to feel unsafe around. I am unsure if it's his towering stature, or cheery yet vaguely threatening demeanor, but he comes off as the type of person who could tuck you in at night and murder anybody who hurts you simultaneously. He has been nothing but nice to me- and although we don't talk or interact as much as I'd like, I can tell he has a good heart."
Nolana Halbritter- Good Friend
"Miss Nolana is scary. But in a cool way. You can tell that she definitely has some thrilling stories to tell, considering her profession- and she always seems to be willing to help those around her. If anything, I am inspired by her complex combination of generosity, intelligence, and generally blunt methods. I don't know her very well at the moment, but I'd sure like to. She seems like a pretty well-rounded person, aside from her love of the drink. But honestly, I cannot blame her."
----
"I've been more worried about her as of recently. She doesn't seem like herself. I'm not the best at reading people, but I've known her long enough to tell that much. I'll stick close to her- make sure she doesn't die."
Shamar Grommok- Good Friend
"Shamar's good. Yes- good, very... good. From first glance, one could be intimidated by his appearance. But he's like Durtheim bread- hard on the outside, and soft within. He's visibly very skilled in combat, and his fearlessness inspires me to try and be more like him every day. He possesses a suprisingly keen intellect, as well- and although he might be rather intense on rare occasion, I'm very glad to have met him. I will always respect him as a friend, and treasure his company."
Lord Bellicus Delarus- Respected/Liked
"I like Lord Bellicus. All of our interactions so far have been very courteous, and all around pleasant. He tries his best to understand the people he employs, and due to this- I have little to feel for him apart from wholehearted respect, and fondness. I look forwards to working under him- and I will try my very best not to disappoint."
Kontuth- Good Friend
"Kontuth is one of my oldest friends in Stucia. His protective nature and spiritual knowledge sometimes cause him to put himself into harm's way to protect others- which can be a bit worrying at times. Putting aside what stereotypes people have around his species, Kontuth is an empathetic worrior that tries his best to put his comrades before himself, and will always have his spot in my circle of friends here."
Azeyma Soulseer- Good Friend
"Miss Soulseer is one of the most intriguing people I know. Not just because of her useful set of knowledge and skills- but also her generally kind regard to those around her. It feels easy to talk to her, even when I feel like nobody wants to bother to listen. I like her tea, and I will do what I can, to make sure she and Celaena can be happy together."
Count Antiphates Landaluce- Liked/Respected
"-There are many good things that I can say about Count Landaluce. However, I'll stick to his comparatively prominent positive qualities. He's a honorable man, who runs an honorable house. He's a valiant worrior, who knows how to handle his sword- well, swords. He's willing to assist me in my inventing endeavors- and for this I am very grateful. He's like Lord Bellicus, in his ability to see the vision of a brighter future through innovation. I hope we can form a friendship in the midst of our business."
