The Continent of Aliud is one of the two surviving continents in the current age. Though Aliud is largely the safest continent on Roan due to the amount of people in organizations and armies that defend it, there is still a tremendous amount of danger and pressure from all sides that would ruin the entire continent were it not for the tenacity of the human kingdoms. Once varied in culture and kingdoms, in the current age only three real countries survive.
The second largest is the Holy Kingdom of Pencast itself, formed in the split of the Tuathan Empire. Through disagreements and souring relations between the clans that made up the Tuathan Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Pencast broke away, first as a poorly guided kingdom, and eventually reformed under the guidance of the Church of Light. With the guidance of the Church, the Kingdom of Pencast has become a major kingdom, with an entire organization and large number of citizens leaning into its strong theocracy. The Kingdom of Pencast is likely the safest land of Aliud, but it is not without issue. The Church often takes taxes and tithes paid to the Church by its citizens, and is largely against adventurers within its borders – though the church itself may make postings for their missionaries when necessary.
Beyond this, the Duchy of Stucia is the last remaining land that acts as a buffer zone between Lusamil and Pencast. It is a ripe land with dungeons and ruins, and a flourishing commerce due to its proximity to the islands between Aliud and Ferran. This is where you are, and where most adventurers begin their journeys. Due to the amount of troubles occurring in the world unfortunately, now thousands of refugees are flooding into Stucia from the surrounding lands.
The only land of note beyond the countries is what used to be the Kingdom of Durtheim. Though it was always a very poor kingdom, Durtheim had relatively secure borders and was also caught in struggles between Lusamil and Pencast for influence, however in the last couple of years the dungeons of Durtheim spontaneously broke their seals, allowing a large number of creatures to escape into the wilds. These creatures, ranging from goblins to orcs and their war bands, have wrought havoc on Durtheim and destabilized the country entirely. Refugees are now pouring into the neighboring countries.
