"Adventurers who have entered a dungeon have seen the statue of the winged goddess carrying her sword. This statue is the one created in each dungeon to commemorate the great goddess Morgain for her actions to protect humanity. Her story is forever told through these tomes.
Long ago, the dreaded Fomors invaded the world, claiming countless innocent lives, destroying towns and razing villages. Many lived in fear of their invasion, lost their lives, and some were even taken into slavery. Those who could not take the abuse attempted to fight back, but the Fomors were too numerous and too vile to withstand. Humans withheld as long as they could, only finding solace through the efforts of Morgain, the Goddess. She protected and blessed those who believe in her, and in turn, the more of humanity that believed in her, the stronger her blessings.
Ultimately, humanity succeeded at the battle of Turieadh, driving the fomors from the land and freeing Aliud from their terror, but at a great cost.
In the final battle at the Turieadh Plains, the humans held the line against Fomorians until the King of the Fomorians appeared. Threatening to eliminate humanity once and for all and decimating the human armies alone, when all seemed to be lost, Morgain appeared on the battlefield and casted a spell, sealing away the Fomorians, and uplifting the human heroes, who then slew the king of the Fomors. Unfortunately, the toll of sealing away the Fomorians meant expending her manifestation on Roan. Morgain turned to stone, and the Fomorians were sealed away in dungeons across the land, each guarded by her stone body and sealed with her power. In her final moments, she promised that upon the elimination of the Fomorians, she would return to take the rest of humanity to Paradise.
The Goddess, who lost her body in the mortal plane, and ascended to the land of gods, where she waits now, watching down on all from above until her final task to humans has been completed."
- An excerpt from a tome of the Church of Lilyma.
Goddess Morgain is the goddess who represents War. She represents the plight of humans against Fomorians and is the patron deity of most adventurers, warriors, and fighters. Depicted as a beautiful woman accompanied by crows, with a set of large black wings, Morgain blesses warriors before go out for battle, and is the same Goddess who watches over those who are wounded and defeated in battle. She is considered a patron to humans, as she is one of the most prevalent deities, with her described in detail by many throughout her 'appearances' and in visions by the oracles who communicate with the gods, culminating in the most important account of her existence.
Unlike the Holy Temple, Morgain has but a single Order in her name. The Order of Morgain is a very loose structure โ members of the Order worship Morgain as the patron deity of Humankind, and have interpreted her blessings of warriors as for those who fight on behalf of what she stands for. As she protects all humans equally, the Order has loosely ruled that those who any battle with purpose are those who receive her blessing, and not the wanton use of violence and destruction against other humans. For this reason the Holy Temple has cooperated with the Order for restoration of the Goddessโ statues. However, the Order and the Temple do not cooperate, because they are closely tied to the Lusamil Kingship and the Holy Kingdom of Pencast respectively.
As the Goddess of War, Morgain is associated with weaponry, namely blades. The Human Hero, Lachlan Ilvada, is also considered to be the champion of Morgain under the Order of Morgain.
