The Church of Lilyma was once a peaceful organization founded thousands of years ago, based on the virtues of peace, harmony, love, and kindness, the Church of Lilyma was meant to encourage these values based on old texts written by some of the earliest of humans claiming to commune with Lilyma. These texts, still preserved today, form the core tenants of the now Holy Temple of the Luminary. Vastly different from the Church of Lilyma, the Temple follows the beliefs written in the foundation of the Church of Lilyma, but under a largely different interpretation.
The Temple worships Lilyma, with all things under the sun being blessed by her light. With the Temple, the beliefs of peace and harmony are foregone for beliefs that the light stands for administering justice, spreading the blessings of the light across the world, and that self-temperance is of great importance. The Temple has the standard church structure in order, the Pope, Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, and finally the people. However, with the Temple, an accompanying structure came in the form of the Holy Office of the Inquisition, with simple Initiates, Seekers, Inquisitors and the head position of the High Inquisitor.
While the normal Temple engages in little more than prayer and humanitarian work, the Inquisition actively seeks out and destroys Fomorian cultists, of which few survive for very long due to the effectiveness of the inquisition. Though there are concerns about the brutality of some inquisitors every so often, especially with their very liberal use of flame magics, the Inquisition is typically only considered a rare sight even within the Temple, or a boogeyman at best for the common people.
The Temple idolizes the sun as a symbol of Lilyma, and believes that Lachlan Ilvada, the human hero, was a miracle blessed by Lilyma to restore order against the invading Fomorians. Though the dungeons are protected by statues of Morgain, the Temple also dispatches priests to restore their seals.
There are few orders outside of the Temple dedicated to Lilyma, minus the still peaceful Church of Lilyma. The Church is still recognized by the Temple, but the followers of the Church of Lilyma are peaceful and do not maintain an order like the Office of the Inquisition, and too few to engage in the amount of work the Temple undertakes in humanitarian efforts towards those displaced by the Fomorian Crisis. The current day remainders of the church believe that the teachings of Lilyma are meant for that of a peaceful life, as her teachings are for all to live and love, to cherish life.
As the Goddess of Light, Lilyma is symbolized by any form of light, and often she is associated with the sun and the stars.
