Biography
Small Humanoids, the Goblins have been found on every continent since the beginning Elf and Human civilization. Direct relatives to the Orcs, Goblins are often found travelling with them- willingly or not. Centuries ago, goblins were no more than another troop in the Fomorian line - for years the Fomorians had enslaved the goblin race as a whole, utilizing their tribes to produce countless expendable fodder for the Fomorian invasions. Only a mere century ago, did some goblin tribes manage to split away from the Fomorians and desert -- that said, most races continue to distrust even these goblins, and goblins are often ostracized or outright banned from entering towns and cities. Goblins homes are often found in caverns or long abandoned ruins with often primal paints and savage dΓ©cor surrounding the area of homestead. Within the homes of Goblins there often lies a small pile of valuables taken from either those they have killed or enslaved.
Perhaps the most surprising and well known 'creation' of the Goblins and their tinkering has been that of Orcs. During the centuries of enslavement by the Fomorians, the goblins attempted to create their own form of slave, something obedient and strong enough to assist both on the home fronts by maintaining goblin towns, and likewise on the field of battle, to act as fodder for goblins - ironically, though they succeeded in creating the first orcs through a ritual that combined goblin flesh with mushrooms, the goblin shamans performing the ritual could not have expected that the orcs would be able to reproduce at a rate so quickly enough to overwhelm the goblins overseeing them. This, coupled with the often shortsighted and idiotic nature of most goblins, including the shamans themselves, resulted in the orcs quickly becoming aware of the goblins' weakness, and breaking free from their control to form their own tribes.

Physiology
Ranging from sizes of 3'8" all the way to 5'0", goblins come in a number of shapes and sizes due to the wildly varying body types of goblins. While it's suspected that there are subspecies of goblin, there has been no attempts to study them to confirm so. This idea comes from the vast differences in goblins - in some areas and within some tribes, goblins may be less in number, taller and stronger, or smarter. In others, they are numerous, short and remarkably stupid - to the point that overwhelming by sheer numbers is the only way for them to succeed, especially as goblins are comparably weaker to any race they could be put up against, forcing them to rely on elements of surprise in battle. Still, though, in many places, goblins are considered more cunning them their Orc brethren. Some goblins can often be found tinkering with items found in raids or ambushes, attempting to create them into weapons useful for the next attack.
Displacement
Goblins are spread across the lands - they don't have any homes of their own, and most towns shun them, meaning that the only homes most goblins have are tribes and encampments in the forests across the world. Beyond that, there is a good chance they are mistaken for goblins who still ally with Fomorians - causing even more trouble for goblins that are trying to stray away from the Fomorians and causing them to stick to their own.

Abilities
Goblins are, quite often, far too stupid and far too weak to properly engage a singular enemy in a head on one-on-one fight. When a cunning goblin exists, however, they are often ripe with dirty tricks and hidden traps to level the battle against an enemy. As a result, goblins are most capable of tinkering with objects - the creation of traps, explosives, and other gadgets that can assist in fighting against an enemy are usually within a goblin's realm of ability. A goblin shaman is even more capable, with the ability to add magic to the mix when skilled enough, the result can be a number of extra gadgets and equipment to a goblin's arsenal.
